Oscars 2025 Nominations - My Final Predictions

Preview

Well, bloody hell. The Oscar nominations. They’re tomorrow. *Looks into the void with dread.* I really dislike this year’s season. Despite the many great films that have come out this year, the vibes across the acting categories, best picture, and technical stuff from other voting bodies have all been terrible. This includes my critics choice awards. Like I’m going to have to hear my faves Bowen Yang and Rachy-Rach say Emilia Pérez numerous times.

I also have to keep my composure if Sing Sing misses the best picture nomination slot. There is no good way to predict the Oscar nominations this year. There has been a lack of consistency across the board and it stresses me out. The only category I was confident about was Best Animated Feature. That was the only legitimate prediction article I wrote! I feel bad because I promised the people more, but I never did so due to freelancing, exhaustion, and solidarity with friends affected by the LA fires. Fuck an awards season, the health and safety of human lives come first and foremost, and I'm not forgetting the people who stayed silent amid the fires.

Now let me not dilly-dally and give you my predictions for this year’s Oscars. Or at least most, for I got nothing on the documentaries and animated short subjects.

Here are my predictions!
